“Law Abiding Citizen” has been sentenced to Blu-ray with a passable transfer that never really impressed me much. The 2.40:1 1080p 24/fps AVC MPEG-4 encoded image is rather uneven. Some scenes look great – warm skin tones, exquisite detail, and rich black levels. But others look soft, out of focus, grainy and anemic.
Law Abiding Citizen is an exposure film, and that is what I love about it. Besides being a revenge tale, it is actually a tale of exposing the truth behind the laws of our country in which the most despicable criminals can go free just by making deals with judges and lawyers. These things happen all the time in our great country.
